RESEARCH-BASED & ACADEMIC PLACEMENTS

These specialized placements are designed for students in universities, colleges, or vocational institutes requiring a specific placement for the purposes of research or academic accreditation. These placements are at a post secondary level and require a high degree of motivation and self-management.

We have extensive experience with university accreditation systems and understands the rigorous requirements of your faculty and can organize a placement that fits to the specific requirements of your institution.

PROJECT PLACEMENT

(dissertation or thesis program) This is a specialized project based placement in a Canadian host company for a term or semester. We will negotiate the placement with the host organization based on the topic outlined by you or your educational institution in advance; alternatively we have extensive experience in assisting the university, our participants, and host organizations in determining an appropriate topic. Host organizations offer you the opportunity to access company information in order to successfully complete your project. The program is usually one semester in length, but may be shorter depending on your individual requirements.

Typical Project May Include:
• Conducting a business snapshot of a companies operations in one sector (e.g. HR) or overall
• Comparing differences in a companies region specific market development strategies
• Doing a cost analysis snapshot on a companies operations, sales process, or production
• Analysing the processes involved and the efficiency of a manufacturing operation
• Analysing a companies “lean manufacturing” implementation strategy in context
• Assessing how a company has implemented a quality standard system (e.g. ISO 9002)

Additional Information:
• Your project consultation, host organization interview, placement, and project outline will all be completed before you arrive in Canada.
• Placement duration is normally a term or semester, which is outlined by your institution (12 - 26 weeks)
• You are required to provide all of your own materials (including a laptop) for the completion of your project.
