African Volunteer Programs

Program description

African Authentic Safaris Ltd. youth travel program is aimed at facilitating youth to travel to different destinations world wide, exchange ideas with fellow youth in destinations visited, contribute to youth education and play an important role in developing greater international understanding and peace.

Our youth travel program is carefully designed to meet the diverse needs of youth especially those wishing to travel toAfrica. Our Programs include; educational trips, voluntary programs, overseas attachment program, gap year programs and exchange programs.

a) Educational trips

Our educational trips are tailor made and they cater for both individual travelers and institutional travelers who usually travel as a group. For institutional travelers we can organize credit transfers with local training institutions.

The educational trips are practical oriented and they grant the youth an opportunity to mix leisure with education. The trips provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. The aim of the trips is to study and enjoy the natural heritage of the visited destination in its natural state and possibly develop a report. Our educational trips have different themes such as biodiversity conservation, community development, humanitarian support and research.

b) Volunteerism

Our volunteer program enables the youth to work on behalf of others especially in developing countries without being motivated by financial or material gain. The participants in this program undertake altruistic activities, intended to promote good or improve human quality of life in the visited destination. Youth especially students can also volunteer to gain skills without requiring an employer's financial investment.

Our volunteer program takes many forms and is performed by a wide range of people. Many of our volunteers are specifically trained in the areas they work in, such as medicine, education, or emergency rescue. Others volunteer on an as-needed basis, such as in response to a natural disaster.  Our programs achieve the following objectives.

i) Economic benefits: activities undertaken by volunteers that would otherwise have to be funded by the state or by private capital, so volunteering adds to the overall economic output of a country and reduces the burden on government spending.

ii) Social Benefits: volunteering helps to build more cohesive communities, fostering greater trust between citizens and developing norms of solidarity and reciprocity that are essential to stable communities.

iii)Individual Career Benefits: graduates can meet people and gain work experience through volunteering, and, it helps school students for scholarships knowing well that the judges are impressed when a resume lists volunteer work.

c)Overseas internship Program

We offer internship placements in all study ranges. Most offered positions are in the developmental services and bio diversity conservation.

d) Exchange Programs

An exchange program student typically stays in the host country for a relatively short period of time, often 6 to 10 months, in contrast to international students or those on study abroad programs which can last for several years.

Highlights

Our volunteer progrenables youth especially students to live in a foreign country to learn, among other things, language and culture. The primary goal of the exchange program is to enhance exchange of ideas amongst students between different countries. No trade off is actually required, so a student is allowed to go to another country without finding a counterpart in that country to exchange with. Students live with a host family, who are usually unpaid volunteers and can be a traditional family, a single parent, or a couple with no children at home.  The program increases the participants' understanding and tolerance of other cultures, as well as improving their language skills and broadening their social horizons.
