Study program profile: BA in Public Administration / Italy / Rome   Send to friend         BA in Public Administration   Apply now!   Study program details   BA in Public Administration     Program description   Graduates will be able to operate effectively in the following fields: Public administration bodies, from an international to a local level International Organisations and Not for Profit Organisations Liaison between private sector organisations/companies and the PA Research organisations dealing with public policy issues The objectives of the course is to provide training for students for career growth in the Italian and International public administration sector. Attention will also be given to defining and creating an awareness of those skills necessary to operate successfully in the PA sector, both personal skills (communication skills, presentation skills, negotiation skills) and technical skills such as computer and IT skills. Upon the completion of the programme, students will have a strong legal, organisational and sociological background and will be aware of the changing nature of the public administration sector in a more technological and international scenario.   The first year will cover the roles of government institutions, the media, and interest groups in the policy making process. During the programme, participants will be introduced to the  principle theories of how democracies make public policy.   Main areas taught are: Civil and Private Law; Administrative Law Economics and Statistics Sociology Teaching consists of lectures, case-based workshops, individual tutorials, and other activities.    This BA is a three years degree (or Italian first level). For the first year, students will study the following subjects: Public Law Sociology Quantitative Methods Private Law Introduction to Economics Contemporary History Languages (English and second language)   The second and the third year the programme will be: Information Technology Administrative Law Public Management Administration Science History of Public Administration Economic Policy Occupational Psychology Language Economics & Labour: A Sociological Aspect Economics & Logistics & Transport Comparative Public Law European Union Law International Law Statistics Long Essay   During the third year students need to complete a period of work experience or Internship (min. 3 months).
